Pressure Reducing Valve 582

GF pressure reducing valve 582

Durable, dependable and simple to use, the Type 582 Pressure Reducing Valve’s design reduces the pressure on the outlet of the valve. It is used to reduce higher pressure from main lines or to protect sensitive devices from being damaged by too much pressure.

Function of the pressure reducing valve

The pressure on the outlet side of the valve acts on the adjusting springs via the diaphragm. The spring pretension, which is adjusted on the valve by means of the adjusting screw, generates a balance of forces.

If the outlet pressure rises above the preset value, the piston will rise against the spring resistance. The valve closes, the outlet pressure is reduced. If the outlet pressure drops below the value, the piston is pushed down by the spring resistance.

The valve starts to open until the equilibrium state is reached again. Irrespective of a rising or falling inlet pressure, the outlet pressure remains largely constant, since it is not in direct proportion to the inlet pressure.
